I've chronicled my struggles with drafting over and over on this blog. For some writers, doing a first draft is exciting--discovering characters, figuring out what happens next--it gives people a rush. Not me. It's like torture. I agonize that the pacing is slow...

Let me just say how much I love school librarians! I had such an awesome time at AASL last week. Meeting and talking with people who love books and working with kids is such a privilege--and a total perk of being a children's book writer...
