Bomb Squad's Hank Shocklee showing some love sporting the new GoPlayDJ shirt at Sonor 2009. Freshness.

Alright, we are doing something that probably has been done, but let's not forget...good things always come back into style. We're going to count down to the number one 80's tv show theme song starting with...10. Charles In Charge - People never realized this show almost got straight up canned...

As soon as we launched the Dual cases a few pro musician publications hit us up hungry to do some product reviews. We can't wait to hear what the editors who have "seen it all" have to say...

Bravo MONO!

I'm going to start calling Daru the King. That is his new nickname. I am saying it now and hopefully it will start to catch on. Daru is one of those cats that inspires you because he just oozes music. It's in his blood, like some kind of lineage...you could say royal lineage...

Simply put, Vernon Reid is an artist. Someone who transcends notes and theory and all that musical stuff. He really embodies music and makes it art. I am not saying that this hasn't been done before, but there may be some of you out there that haven't gotten to know Vernon on this level...

So it may be a Hallmark holiday, but we know that Father's Day can be the perfect window of opportunity to hook up that [insert thing they've been wanting here]. So, sons and daughters, forget the tie - who wants a tie? - get him something he'll REALLY LIKE...

This is straight from the mouth of someone who is using the newest and greatest in electronic technology for music. The AKAI APC40 is going to revolutionize the way electronic artists view consoles and controllers...

I know pronounce you man with band. When we first heard the news, excitement was definitely in the air. I can't picture a better match. So we are announcing here on MONO...the marriage of Matisyahu and Dub Trio...

So do we. And our friends at Adapt make some fine threads which you should check out. They're about to release a small run of T's that you are going to like (a collaboration with Quannum). People get ready - they will be gone like that. Snag one and support the arts.

I can't get enough of this. Axel Willner goes by the moniker "The Field" and he takes us along on a cross journey of glorious ambient tones on his newest release. With only 6 songs, this album goes for about an hour and each song builds into themselves with some crafty working...

Yo, this place is dope. If you live in NYC, you should definitely check this place out. It is the premiere spot to get all your education in the wants and know-hows of DJing and electronic music production...

Photo by Robert LongleyJake comes to us from the Berklee School of music where he has been a prominent session enforcer on drums from the start of his tenure there in 2007...

While we were in New York, we had to see if John was around. It just so happened he was in town and working on the new Battles record. It's in the very early stages of the album, but I seriously can not wait to hear some samples or a track or something!!...

We were there. So was Dice Raw. Damn this was a show that anticipation was meant for. I don't know how much of their set is scripted, but the improv that comes from the Roots is a thing of beauty...

When Guitar World arrived this month we thought we saw our GS1 Strap on the cover, attached to none other than Steve Vai! But we weren't positive. Then we opened to page 55 - BLAM! Looking sharp, Steve. Thanks for the shoutout. (Great article too.)

I have been listening to this band the entire day. 800beloved hails from Michigan, but they their sound is so reminiscent of 80's bands from the UK. The Cure, New Order comes to mind right away. Peter Hook bass lines all over the place...brilliant!!...

So we are up at...12? or somewhere around there. It's definitely noon. Getting to bed at 5am is weird, feels like college all over again. So it's time to grab some food and meet up with Steve Aoki. We get to the hotel and wait in the lobby. They have sharks in the tank all along the wall...

We're finally up at around 10am, that's 7am on the west coast so we're feeling it. Time to meet up with Jenn, Mark Lewis, and Mike Burns for a little breakfast/lunch. Today is going to be kind of crazy and ridiculous as we have a very packed schedule...

We have a lay over in Austin Texas. The ride is really bumping and it feels like our jet is taking a hit from some bad weather. We land into Austin with people feeling like poo, but I hear they have great BBQ there! We decide not to get off the plane for the half hour that we will be there...

It was like 100 degrees in the Carl Cox tent, here is a sample of masses of sweaty people living it up.

Ok, there is going to be a huge azzzz Miami post right about to happen. So stay tuned. This weekend was absolutely crazy. From meeting the Black Eyed Peas, Moby, and DJ Ferry Corsten, to chilling with Carl Cox, DJ Reza, and Mark Lewis...

We are headed to the crazy beaches of Miami. This was really a spur of the moment trip planned for us, but since the launch of our DJ assault gear there have been plenty of people asking if we were going to rep there...

I got a tip from someone that pointed me to Mr. Sayce. I was literally blown away when I heard what I heard. I kept looking at the mans fingers and the tone they created...

I had to embed this...so this is how it goes. I go to sleep before the Jimmy Fallon show. So I DVR this bad boy to watch it the next day. Well I got a tip from twitter that Public Enemy and the Roots were mashing up "Bring the Noise". By far one of the best on this show...this was insane!

I am sitting here at the computer, listening to the BrakesBrakesBrakes and basically loving everything about uncrate.com. This site is so dope. I love looking at gear and stuff that I don't need but hella want. This gets me thinking...maybe we'll see some dope ass MONO products on uncrate.

There are 300 days until the end of the year. The month of March also means it is tax season and we all dread this...unless you are going to get a fat check in the mail. But most of us dread the amount of time it takes...
