Great to see the efficient response to getting additional troops to Afgan. Hopefully, along with the addtional troops there will be efforts to improve Afgan logistics and the ability to move troops around Afgan. Best wishes for the New Year to all - from a Vietnam veteran

But, how long the ME countries will boost this affiliation? Once Iran will succeed their nuclear endeavor, the force projection capabilities of the CENTCOM will be severely affected which will no doubt degrade the client-patron relationship of US with Middle East alliance. So the foremost priority is to curb Iranian nuclear ambition and not to be ... See Morecontented with arms selling. The zero outcome of multilateral talk, the stalemate in diplomatic efforts, the limitations of IAEA and ineffectiveness of UN Security Council to resolve the nuclear standoff are really factors to be calculate to find alternatives to resolve this issue.

I mean, if the idea is that this is supposed to be largely a sort of political, nonmilitary, everything is being done by the military, which is just the way the American government is organized right now.

And it's very, very clear in Helmand. The civilian surge which is supposed to be part of this..and it's not.
