Wolfgang Kunze

Wolfgang Kunze I have switched from windoze to a macbook pro and am glad to see that there is something to almost take the place of dragonspeech 10. The later still seems easier to use especially with more succinct commands like select xxxx rather than the cumbersome "select the word" xxxx. Also, the golden rule is a drag and Dragon is more liberal in this respect - maybe windows software report back the loci of letters better? It is either a Windows vs. OSX thing or Macspeech hasn't yet figured out how to do this with mac software. Ditto for dictation via a digital recorder. Nevertheless, I find ver 1.51 usable in an professional setting which is not a bad thing. Thanks, can't wait for future update.
PS. I was not one the ones who complained about the upgrade cost. Speech recognition is such a productivity enhancer that I rank it with say adobe photoshop plus illustrator and they are more the the few hundred bucks that macspeech ask.

Macspeech 1.51 is much better than 1.3 in my hands. I ran Dragon 10 under fusion when only 1.3 was available; with 1.5 I have been able to stick to the mac side. I think that macspeech is very close.

Chris Hale

Chris Hale I have been a MacSpeech Dictate user since before it was issued but recently I have been treated very badly and I'm writing here because there is no customer care. Dictate 1.5 has been very problematic to the point that I have uninstalled it and have reinstalled 1.3. I've contacted support repeatedly over the last three weeks and have received nothing but vague assurances that they are working on the problem. They have offered neither to contact me to tell me when I can expect a working version or my money back nor have they offered to refer me to anyone who can tell me this. As a loyal customer and a person who is spent good money, I feel that Dictate owes me at least the ability to contact someone of authority. I have even contacted PR and left 3 messages but have receive no call back.

Jeff Kennedy

Jeff Kennedy I have to admit I'm still undecided on 1.5. 1.3's running pretty well for me and I'm seeing reports of improvements as well as complaints about running/not running under 10.5.7. Oh well. Thanks to one and all here for the interesting info and feedback nevertheless. Wish I had more info from MacSpeech on some of the reported problems though.

James A Mulick I'm using MacSpeech 1.3 now. I have just ordered the upgrade. I hope it works as well as 1.3.

David

David Help I have re-installed MacSpeech but it crashes at the profiles point. It's v10-13. Any ideas anyone?

Pat Moran

Pat Moran I've just downloaded the latest MacSpeech Dictate 1.51 update. On version 5.1 I had one crash. So far it looks like 1.51 is doing great on running 10.57 and not have any problems so I'll keep you informed if I do or if I run into some techniques that maybe you should know about.

Anthony Durante will the MacSpeech work with ipod-nano for recording speech and then download later?

I'd be really interested in an objective review. I can't imagine how this upgrade price could be justified, but hey I've been wrong before. : )

I've been using 1.3 for several months now and have ordered 1.5. Sorry you're having a bad experience, but I have to tell you that no way is MacSpeech broken. It's been something of a lifesaver for me, and it works better and better as I learn it more thoroughly. Of course it's not perfect, but it's about 300 miles ahead of typing. (This has been dictated to MacSpeech 1.3. I'm really looking forward to 1.5.)
Norberto Bottani

Norberto Bottani I am using iListen in Italian. We have only version 1.8.1. When will Dictate be available in Italian? Version 1.8.1 doesn't work well, at least in Italian, on MacBookPro and with Leopard system.

Peter Hartley

Peter Hartley So far I'm not very impressed with Dictate. It feels way behind the Dragon application on my work pc.
