I havent layed eyes upon Mackinaw City, or the Bridge since 1985. I hope to get some good views from the cameras in the years to come. One of my closest and dearest friends John Portman pointed this out to me (Thanks Brody)

Thanksgiving is pretty quiet up here....but there are a few hotels open year round. A few of the shops will stay open also....it's still a beautiful peaceful place to visit.

Besides eating and drinking at some of the fine establishments in town, or hiking the trails west of town at the headlands, you can always visit the Kewadin Casino in St.Ignace. Audies Restaurant in Mack city may be holding a wine tasting or dinner theater around that time, but you would have to ckeck with them. Have fun no matter what.

Don't forget open skating at the ice-skating complex, or watching some of the youth hockey games which are entertaining at the very least. And bring a bathing suit for the heated pool at the hotel you will stay in.

Straits State Harbor also features eight on-site wind turbines that generate 60 percent of the harbor's energy resources. Bring the boat up next summer and enjoy the beautiful Straits!

Great "comfort food" on a cold day! They tasted good (inside) but were mostly crust - which I left on my plate :-( Shared a piece of lemon pie with mom - her favorite - ...
