Taking part will be playwright Linda McLean, choreographer/director Ian Spink, film-maker Catriona MacInnes, visual artist Ruth Barker and choreographer Sheila MacDougall. We'll spend two weeks working with four actors on five starting points. ...The last Rough Mix led to a number of successful projects including Walden. There'll be a work-in-progress showing at 4.00pm on Friday 22nd January at Dance Base, Grassmarket, Edinburgh - why not come along? It's an opportunity to be in at the beginning of exciting new work and a perfect way to start 2010. Just turn up - it's free.

Gloria Douglas Saw Ewan Donald in Craigellachie, Banffshire on Friday and was ovrwhelmed with a magical sense of being right there at Walden Pond. Wanted to sit through the whole thing over again. An intimate, encompassing performance and if you ain't seen it yet...get down to somewhere it's still being performed.

Magnetic North All was revealed today about Culture Minister Mike Russell's visit to Walden on Thursday - in an article in The Herald, he was pictured holding up tickets to Walden with the caption "Hottest tickets in town". Accompanied by Herald Arts Correspondent Phil Miller, the Minister had gone to see two Fringe shows (Walden an...d Three Sisters) and three International Festival events (Judas Maccabaeus, St Kilda and Faust).

Magnetic North A Twitter review for Walden - not sure what Thoreau would have made of the use of technology, but nice nonetheless.

Magnetic North We had a surprise visit from Culture Minister Mike Russell at yesterday's (Thursday) performance of Walden - he arrived unannounced with a small party shortly before the performance and was photographed holding a copy of the playscript before settling down to watch the show. We're not sure to what we owed the pleasure - maybe he's a fan of the book?

Magnetic North 4 star review for Walden in The List

It’s the smell that hits you, as you shuffle to your seat in the sparse wooden seating bank that constitutes Walden’s only set. Fresh pine sap: an un-urban smell, from a world utterly at odds with the chattering mania of the Fringe. Magnetic North has…

Magnetic North Here's a photo of the Walden set taken at Gilmorehill last week - it's made of cedar, is beautiful and smells wonderful!

Walden is one of the most extraordinary and unclassifiable books ever written. Magnetic North’s production adapted the book as an event that was part performance art and part philosophy class. It was performed at Stills in Edinburgh to sell-out houses and fantastic reviews.

Magnetic North Rehearsals start on Monday in Glasgow for Walden.
