Dear colleagues
Reminder for the next Trans consultation event.
Thursday 2 July 2009 from 6.30 till 8.30pm
LGBT Centre
49 - 51 Sidney Street
M1 7HB
Just off Oxford road behind the Eighth Day Cafe
(food will be provided)
At the last event the evaluation questionnaire asked you to identify what you felt were the top 3 prioritie...s for trans people. The top priority identified was housing, specifically homelessness provision. We have invited Keith Davis Head of Homelessness at Manchester City Council and Ian Belnavis, Acting Deputy Head, Policy and Service Development, Housing Services to come along to the session and discuss the following:
* prevention of homelessness
* legal duties of MCC
* allocations
There is an opportunity for discussions about what Manchester City Council can improve for trans people accessing housing services and what wouldn't be possible. We hope the session will be a good opportunity for finding solutions to some of the issues highlighted at the last consultation event.
Please let me know if you would like to attend.
Many thanks

Uta Hello everyone, my sister is FTM (pre-transition) and I'm currently writing my journalism portfolio (at the University of Sheffield) on trans-people. I'm still looking for people who would speak to me about their experiences, problems and just general life. If anyone would be willing, please do drop me a line on facebook, or write me an email (uta_kamuf@gmx.de). X
