Any hanky panky on the aid distribution should be reported right away to the Office of the Ambassador so proper action can be iniated. We trust every single dime of US assistance to the Phillipines is well accounted for.So far we haven't heard yet of any complaint, thanks to Madam Ambassador's diligent monitoring.

Well said, Mr. Ajihil. But, I wonder...just who is monitoring on the other side of the Embassy fence. With many victims of the storm(s) still homeless and sloshing around in the quagmire, one is left to wonder just what the Philippine Government is actually doing to (actively) assist the disaster victims. I, for one, am hoping that the Ambassador ... See Moreis not too quick in releasing the fund, at least not until a plan is submitted for its expenditure. Just an afterthought, I think the forthcoming national election and the most recent killings in Maguindanao have overshadowed the government's attempt to aid the storm victims, another matter of political priorities....

Oh yes, here in America people like President Obama's handling of the Afghan and Pakistan problem except Fox news and the Republican mouthpieces who can't seem to appreciate the good things he's been doing since assuming office. More power Mr. President!

President Obama's speech reminds me of former President Johnson's following the Gulf of Tonkin incident. As a result, I and many more went off to do our duty. Many did not return. Again, I watch as many of my friends make preparations to go to Afghanistan to "fight their war". I hope their mission is clear and that they are not just being used as pawns in a game of political folly.

We express heartfelt gratitude to the U.S. Embassy and Madam Embassador Kristie Kenney for condemning the barbaric killing of innocent people including fellow journalists by those murderers in Maguindanao. The world is shocked by the brutal manner the cranage was carried out at a time when the Philippine government prides itself with so many peace ... See Moreovertures undertaken with various rebel groups in troubled Mindanao only to find out the serious threat to peace and order is still hounding the people. This incident should not be allowed to pass without government taking a strong hand and immediate action to bring the perpetrators and everyone involved be they political warlords and henchmen, para-military forces or rebel groups to account for their crimes and be given the punishment they deserve under the limits of the law.

WE from Davao City sympathizes the families of the victims of the gruesome incident in Maguindanao. We just hope that Mindanao will not be generalized as a dangerous destination for journalists and tourists alike specially davao city.1. Davao City is an Independent city in mindanao with a crime rate of .08 . year , 2. Maguindanao is way far from ... See MoreDavao City and before entering our city from north to south entrance they still have to undergo a lot of check points. that is because we have a good mayor whoprotects us from any danger and give special attention to all the local and tourists visitors. What happen to Maguindanao was a war between two Political clans. No matter how you feed those people and give them countryside development ,nothing will happen unless the the suspects of the gruesome killings are being stopped since they are the one who always as in ALWAYS in trouble with anyone they encountered. Yes give them countrywide development again it wont happen coz they will just use it in buying mansions and SUVs. so before thinking of giving countrywide development first this family this perpetrators should be stopped in moving upwards when there is still time.

Opening up 'dialogue' between the United States and ASEAN partners is good because it serves as good measure to secure common understanding an enhance cooperation on bilateral issues such as economic, trade, immigration and even on security aspect between U.S. and ASEAN members. We commend this initiative taken by the good Ambassador for ASEAN Affairs Scot Marciel on behalf of President Barack Obama's administration.
