Anglers in the Two Rivers and Manitowoc area despite conditions that were not favorable for most of the period had a fair week of fishing. Although at times higher water, sediment, and floating debris made area rivers hard to fish, some nice trout and salmon were caught...

Manitowoc Area Visitor & Convention Bureau The family halloween bash at the Manitowoc-Two Rivers YMCA is going on tonight from 5:30-8:30pm. Come join in bobbing for apples, a scavanger hunt and bingo. The instructional pool and gymnastics center will also be open. $4.25 per person.

Since November is the month when the greatest number of shipwrecks occurred on the Great Lakes, the Wisconsin Maritime Museum, located at 75 Maritime Drive, Manitowoc, will host a Great Lakes Shipwrecks Family Activity Day on Saturday, November 7.
The day includes:
-A shipwreck scavenger hunt in the museum’...s galleries.
-Story sessions with the museum’s education staff who will tell the tragic tales of the sinking of the S.S. Edmund Fitzgerald in Lake Superior, the Eastland which sank in the Chicago River and the last voyage of the schooner Rouse Simmons which sank in Lake Michigan. The story sessions will be held at various times throughout the day.
-A hands-on activity that allows children and parents to discover what it’s like to explore a shipwreck, using objects in the museum’s simulated shipwreck site.
-A “learn about diving in Lake Michigan” talk conducted by Mike Hansen, owner of Maritime Divers, at 10:30 a.m.
-Short documentaries on shipwreck preservation shown in the museum’s theater.
All activities are free with regular museum admission or museum membership. Admission to the museum is $12 for adults and $10 for children and includes all Great Lakes Shipwrecks Family Day Activities, a guided tour of USS Cobia, a fully restored WWII submarine, and all-day access to the museum’s 12 galleries.

Salmon anglers fishing in the East Twin River had a good week of fishing. Anglers were concentrated around the Mishicot dam catching large Chinook salmon. Anglers were catching fish during daylight hours by casting spinners or using spawn sacs...
