March of Dimes Maryland-National Capital Area Chapter Hosts David and Nycci Nellis spoke with Chef Carla Hall and Mixologist Gina Chersevani on the Dishing It Out radio program October 18 on WFED 1500 AM. Hall and Chersevani were interviewed about Signature Chefs Auction of D.C, a benefit for the March of Dimes, which will be held November 2 in Washington, D.C.
March of Dimes Maryland-National Capital Area Chapter Tim from Dallas, Texas, who is visiting Washington, D.C., saw a Twitter message from Top Chef finalist Carla Hall that she was at Books-a-Million Dupont Circle. Since he was near the store, he "bought a cheap umbrella" and came to the store to meet Carla and get a signed copy of the book.

Top Chef finalist Carla Hall, who is the Honorary Signature Chef at this year's Signature Chefs Auction of D.C., signed copies of "Top Chef The Cookbook" Saturday, October 17, at Books-A-Million on Dupont Circle. Also on October 17, area Books-A-Million stores donated 20 percent of total sales that day to the March of Dimes.
March of Dimes Maryland-National Capital Area Chapter
Alan Mulally, president and CEO of Ford Motor Company, and Ron Gettelfiinger, president of the United Auto Workers, announced they have joined forces to raise $100 million for the March of Dimes in 2010. Mulally and Gettelfinger will serve as national co-chairs for March for Babies.
Three members of Congress--Nancy Pelo...si, Christopher Bond and John Dingell--were recognized for their leadership on maternal and child health issues.

The Maryland-National Capital Area March of Dimes has the chance to participate in a unique event, The Shopping Benefit, on Thursday, October 29, from 10 am to 10 pm at Bloomingdale’s three DC area stores, including Chevy Chase, Tysons Corner and White Flint. The March of Dimes will benefit from funds raised through ti...cket sales. More than $50,000 is expected to be distributed among the participating charities.
The Shopping Benefit will feature storewide entertainment, fashion events and special discounts. Tickets may be purchased for $10.00 each and 100 percent of these proceeds will benefit participating charities. Ticket holders will receive a certificate for 15 to 20 percent savings off Bloomingdale’s regular and sale priced merchandise on the day of the event (with limited exclusions.)
