CTC Library was asked at the clubPLANET meeting on the North Metro campus on Wed 18 Nov 2009 - where can we find out about other scholarships. I said I'd get an answer on Thursday morning. Here's an answer - Go to GCIC (http://www.gcic.peachnet.edu) Login : ctc ; Password gcis624 - On the left side - scroll to Education, click on ...Financial Aid - select your program of study and a long list of scholarships appears. Go for it! Please do stop by any campus library for information on resources that will help you succeed.

CTC Library Wonder what all the hype is about with Avatars, Virtual Worlds and Second Life®?

Well come and see for yourself! The Visual Communication Department at North Metro Campus would like to invite you to a gallery exhibit at our virtual building on Second Life! The virtual gallery presents Midnight Summer’s Scream! A digital...ly-composited photo exhibit presented by students of this summer’s VCM 136 Digital Photo Editing course.

More information about the virtual campus

If you already have an avatar and understand how to teleport, the VCM Virtual Campus Annex is at:
http://slurl.com/secondlife/Stephenson/102/204/32
(paste into a browser - brings up a map locating the Annex, click on teleport and your avatar will automatically arrive at the building).

Interested? But you don’t have an avatar . . .

You’ll have to sign up for an avatar to visit, kind of fun – it is free!
Signup at www.secondlife.com/.

It is best to sign up from your home computer using your home email address.

Once you have an avatar, and have visited orientation island to learn how to walk, talk, teleport and fly, you are ready to explore the Annex. http://slurl.com/secondlife/Stephenson/102/204/32

Warning: Orientation Island is kind of like it must have been for immigrants at Ellis Island ¬- a more quiet, academic , less eventful, less crowded way to go through Orientation is at http://slurl.com/secondlife/Virtual%20Ability/170/100/23 your choice.
