My solo exhibition, “The E Word,” continues at Bay6 Gallery until November 1st. Bay6 is open on Saturdays and Sundays from 2pm - 5pm, or by appointment.
"The E Word" explores life at different scales: from the elements of evolution to the essentials of our environment, and on to the endless reaches of space. Through th...e interplay and juxtaposition of the micro with the macro, I try to depict on canvas what nature could do in the world, but hasn’t gotten around to yet.
The title for "The E Word" came from a question regarding one of my pieces in a Fort Worth exhibit in 2008 ("Succession #42" -- view on website: http://marilynfenn.com/art/succession/su ccession-2/?titleid=243). Regarding this piece, an artist asked me if the painting was about "The E Word?" When I asked what she meant, in a whisper she said, "you know...evolution."

Marilyn Fenn No danger of this happening to me, I think: "One of the worst things an artist can do is stagnate into a certain style or genre for life. It’s all about growth, and the growth of the artist should never stop."— D.C. Watson
