This week's featured artist is Rodion Yefymov, a self-taught photographer originally from Ukraine who is now living in the UK. Rodion's photography most often explores the effects of light itself - and does so brilliantly, as seen in the following three images:

Surfing the web looking for eco-friendly ideas and finding many out there. Some are good ideas, some are just smoke screens to make people think the products have changed when they have only moved the pressure from one ecologically damaging area to another...

Marilyn Robertson - Art & Photography I can connect with many of this photographer's musings about his work. He has some gorgeous photos to check out too.

This time in June is my in-between time. That is the time between the Peddler’s Village Fine Art and Craft Show (a favorite of mine) and the marathon show, The Kutztown Folk Festival (9 days long). ...

It is early, early morning. The moon has completed its arc across the sky and gone from my view to hang out over distant countries. There are two brilliant stars left shining - all others are overpowered by the pale glow of early dawn...

TED Talks Sculptor and engineer Arthur Ganson talks about his work -- kinetic art that explores deep philosophical ideas and is gee-whiz fun to look at.

I love the internet. Some days, yes, it is like pulling hens teeth to try to find exactly the information we are looking for. We have to slog through much rubbish to get to where we want to go. But, other days it is so serendipitous and rewarding—everything just falls into place...

Throughout my history of creating things I have often felt at odds with comments of others about my work as well as my own feelings about what I had created that time around. Sometimes I stand back and look at the finished work and wonder where it came from...

Talking about human nature instead of nature outside your door today. This man leaves me speechless. I really can't describe the awe I feel when I listen to him speaking and watch him moving around, doing everyday things...

The New Year is fast approaching. How do you want yours to play out? Has this past year been one where you followed your desires? Did you introduce something in to your life that you had been missing, or that brings you enjoyment? What would you like most from 2009...

Well .... I said a few days ago that we may not have snow for Christmas this year. A few days later it started snowing and has hardly quit since! I can tell you I am certain we will have a white Christmas this year. It makes the world sparkling, clean and beautiful, but .......

I have been tagged in a meme by Oza Meilleur, so this post today is a response to that. For any of you that don't know what a meme is all about, they are information patterns that replicate. Usually, you and I are the ones that replicate them, because information can't exactly replicate itself...

Firstly, all fall I have been patiently watching and waiting for the mountain goats to come down far enough to get photos of them...

Just finished reading an article in the June/July 2008 issue of 'Scientific American Mind' titled 'Let Your Creativity Soar' in which Robert Epstein , Julia Cameron and John Houtz discuss their thoughts on creativity and offer some ideas on how to encourage it.The feeling is that creativity is...

Being creative means creating something new - whether it be an idea or an actual 'thing'. Playing around with all the wonderful creative tools we have these days can be not only fun, but productive as well. Sometimes, if I just want to play I will - having no particular end use in mind...

I realized, as I was explaining something to someone today, that part of the reason I enjoy doing the abstract photography so much is because it does hold my fascination...

Was reading a book and came across the phrase 'directed-attention fatigue'. Boy did that strike a chord! I had never heard anyone discuss the feeling using those words before, but it sits right with me. It makes sense...
