But it was the testimonials of people who are confronting the U. S. health care system as it is that were most memorable. Fredline told of his recent diagnosis of prostate cancer and a radical prostatectomy six weeks ago. “I thought, ‘Oh my God, I have cancer.’ Then it was, ‘Thank God I have healt...

Government take over is NOT the answer. That isn't fixing anything, it's destroying everything, including what works, and replacing it with socialized medicine that will never work. Again, your support of this is why I'm not voting for you next year.

Thank you for your efforts. Most of us understand that health care reform is necessary, positive change and not something to fear. Thank you for having the courage to stand up to misinformation campaigns and corporate lobbying. I appreciate it, as do many more of your constituents!

Thank you Mark--for helping craft a reasonable bill, for listening to your constituents, and for coming up with this way to have a sane, useful conversation at these meetings. Those who call it socialized medicine...well I might WISH you were right, but you are not.

Today U.S. Rep. Mark Schauer defended his vote in favor of health care reform by saying it will help insure an additional 36,000 people in Michigan's 7th Congressional District and increase employer-based benefits for an estimated 400,000 district residents.

Enjoyed the Town Hall in Battle Creek today. I'm glad that you were able to come. I do wish there had been more time for questions however. Maybe you can work more time for them into your program tomorrow. As I mentioned today, I am still concerned about how this will effect our seniors on Medicare.

I'm one of your constitutents in Adrian, MI. I like your comments on the radio program and trust you will vote for strong and meaningful reform including a public option. The current state of health care and insurance is scandalous in a rich nation. I appreciate your efforts to get this landmark legislation passed.

Economic growth?!? Hillsdale county has gone from high single digits to 20% unemployment. The only thing growing I see is the size of government and the deficit. Shame on all of you for selling our children's future out.

There will be no public option. America is a country run by the people, not the Government. Entitlements are the cancer of this great country. An educated, responsible and competitive population is the cure. Successful people were not put on this earth to be "forced" to pay for the unsuccessful. That is what charity is for. Sound cruel? Sorry, it is what it is.
