I'm one of your constitutents in Adrian, MI. I like your comments on the radio program and trust you will vote for strong and meaningful reform including a public option. The current state of health care and insurance is scandalous in a rich nation. I appreciate your efforts to get this landmark legislation passed.

From what I am hearing, I think it would be a good idea for you to vote no and have some more debate. We will be watching.

And with only half of the stimulus money distributed, Schauer said the program's full impact is not yet realized. He said Congress can do more to help the economy by lengthening unemployment benefits, expanding a homebuyer tax credit, freeing up credit for small businesses and reauthorizing the surf...

"I like what I see," Schauer said. "In many ways, the bill is a response to what I heard from the people I represent. It not only provides some immediate relief, but will provide health insurance for virtually every American."

Economic growth?!? Hillsdale county has gone from high single digits to 20% unemployment. The only thing growing I see is the size of government and the deficit. Shame on all of you for selling our children's future out.

There will be no public option. America is a country run by the people, not the Government. Entitlements are the cancer of this great country. An educated, responsible and competitive population is the cure. Successful people were not put on this earth to be "forced" to pay for the unsuccessful. That is what charity is for. Sound cruel? Sorry, it is what it is.

"We have the tools, talented workforce and resources to develop the high-tech, energy efficient vehicles of tomorrow right here in Michigan," U.S. Rep. A local manufacturer hit hard by layoffs and job losses makes a very different kind of announcement- aplan to retool, and most importantly, re-hire. RTD Manufacturing was so dependent on auto business, they were forced to make some tough decisions and lay off more than half of their workforce. ...

Mark Schauer This is great news for the entire Jackson community. Politicians like me don’t create jobs, but as an elected official, it’s my job to serve as a partner for local business like RTD to cut through all the red tape and help THEM create jobs.

Standing in front of the dozen or so employees left at RTD Manufacturing, a host of politicians and business leaders announced a major military contract that could keep those workers busy and add to their ranks.

Mark Schauer This is why I supported the Recovery Act - to help small businesses owners like Diane Brabon save and create jobs in communities like Delta Twp.

Brabon owns Trusting Heart Home Health Services LLC in Delta Township. The Aug. 12 loan from the federal Small Business Administration's Business Guaranteed Loan Financing Account let her create 10 part-time jobs she expects to grow into full-time positions. "We get to help the elderly and those in...

Mark Schauer We still have a long way to go to turn Michigan's economy around, but this is certainly good news for Jackson. This is a big part of why I co-sponsored the Cash for Clunkers bill - to help Michigan businesses and save local jobs.

Mark Marcucci, president of MacSteel, credits the "wild success" of the federal government's Cash for Clunkers program this summer for his ability to call more workers back... It's a welcome change of events, Crowley said. Four months ago, the company made known its plans to winterize the plant, and...

Mark Schauer This is why I'm fighting for health insurance reform that offers middle-class Michigan families peace of mind - stable, affordable insurance you can never lose, even if you get sick or lose a job.

Mark, just make sure it includes a public option, anything less is unacceptable - it should be single-payer, but guess that ship has sailed.

don't pay any attention to those doom and gloom right wingers. We could have paid for health care reform with the money we've spent on Irag and had something to show for it. If we cut the money we give foreign governments for weapons we'd have more money for our citizens.
