The good news for our region is that natural-organic fertilizers applied Sep 15 to Oct 15 achieve similar improvements in turf color a...nd density as other fertilizers applied as late as Dec 15, and at less of a cost to water resources.

Gardens Are Grub control season is upon us. Organically approved control of turf damaging white grubs with entomopathogenic nematodes requires knowing 1) what species of grubs are present, 2) threshold levels of each species, 3) which species of nematodes will control local grub populations, 4) proper application of healthy nematodes, and 5) continued monitoring.
