Neat, unfortunately the timber barons were not good stewards of the WV forests - they used a process similiar to strip mining. Take what you want and leave the earth bare. For the history buffs the GRT above Renick has some Civila (un) War history worth checking out. Both forces following the Droop Mt battles/skirmishes moved off of the mountain came down the valley and crossed the rive heading south.

Greenbrier River Trail Most maple leaves have changed, probably even better up high. If last night's wind didn't remove them all, the next 5-10 days will be good for fall colors.

Most of the trail between Caldwell and Renick will have new stone and several smaller areas up "north".
