If is is a Reading First school, it can get money to provide scripted reading instruction on basic skills, which is another way to "dumb down" the curriculum, because it does not allow teachers to address individual deficiencies at all. CRITICAL THINKING IS KEY. Key to good schools, key to good teachers, key to good leadership, key to good policies.
