'Mary's, Naturally' Closed From Fred Walters Jr - "There's a news crew across the street in the Mary's parking lot. Anyone we know?"

Ken Hoge This would be a great location to turn into a museum, community center, art gallery or such. For my generation (70's -) it was gay ground zero. What happens to it now?

No, not at Mary's. But on the subject of ashes, the President scattered his mother's and grandmother's ashes into the ocean in Hawaii - about ten years apart.

'Mary's, Naturally' Closed Perhaps a small marker saying 'Mary's Ashes' could be placed in that park, along with random shovels of dirt from around the Back Lot. It would collectively commemorate all the members of the community family whose ashes were laid to rest in the Back Lot, whose names are known or unknown. And it would be just a ...few hundred feet from where the ashes originally were.

'Mary's, Naturally' Closed One possible option for remembering those represented by 'Mary's Ashes' is the triangular shaped 'park' just to the west of Mary's Back Lot. Based on the shrubbery in that park and the sidewalks on each of the three sides and the continual maintenance of the area, it seems like it might be City property.

Don Gill This is one strong support from a City that has always came together in a time of change. Change is now. We will no longer have our Historic Mary's. However that will not stop us form keeping the names of so many Houstonians alive in some way or another. Thanks, to all of you for all your inputs. Lets accomplish someth...ing. One step at a time. I want to say thank you to Mr. Brandon Wolf for all that you are doing to help preserve the names of our ( Montrose, Texas ) family of friends.

Walt Zipprian I'm looking for people to videotape, telling their stories about Mary's. Please respond, or message me, if you're interested.

'Mary's, Naturally' Closed Locked and abandoned, Mary's backlot is becoming overgrown, although the patio seems to be in fairly good condition. These photos were taken through boards that had previously been ripped away from the surrounding fences.
