Matrix Human Services • $810,000 to Wayne State University as fiduciary for the Detroit Connected Community Initiative, a collaborative effort to increase high speed Internet access to two large, low-income Detroit neighborhoods, Central Woodward on the city’s north end and Osborn in the northeast. Other partners in the effort include: Community Telecommunications Network, Focus: HOPE, 4Cs/Family Place and Matrix Human Services.

Off The Streets (est. 1986) provides voluntary crisis intervention to families and youth. Shelter services (safe stay, counseling, case management, transportation to/from school, life skills, opportunities for recreation) are available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, to youth who are runaway, potential runaway, homeless..., or facing possible at risk/crisis situations. Attendance for this years party will most likely exceed 1,000 parents and children (last year we had 700). Festivities include a magic show, games, entertainment, arts & crafts, free books and FUN! *wear your costume*

Matrix Human Services Darius worked on his behavior in school going from earning average and below average citizenship marks to receiving a Citizenship Award at the end of the school year (paper he is holding). He is wearing a medal for making the Honor Roll for the first time and he also received a certificate of recognition!
