- Matthew Larsen played piano and sang in beloved Western Massachusetts (Pioneer Valley) bands, Smokejumpers and Northernly, as well as solo. Lately writing and performing songs for a new record (to be released in 2009), his lush piano melodies and thoughtful lyrics divide the lines between anthemic ballads, straightforward rock, and indie folk.
