Mayor's Alliance for NYC's Animals Celebrate National Bird Day on CBS Early Show – Tues., Jan.5, 7:00 a.m. The Avian Welfare Coalition needs your help to raise awareness of the plight of birds in captivity and in the wild. The CBS Early Show in NYC will cover National Bird Day from their plaza and your help is needed to make this opportunity a success. ...All you need to do is show up and hold a poster (provided). Mayor's Alliance for NYC's Animals Glen Wild Animal Rescue, a Mayor's Alliance Participating Organization, is struggling as a result of the economy to keep its shelter -- home for 30 dogs (many abused and needing long-term sanctuary), 12 cats, and a humane education program that offers a new lease on life to troubled teens.

The Mayor's Alliance for Animals is beginning a campaign to find pets homes for the holidays. Earlier today, the Humane Society of New York and the Mayor's Alliance for Animals was in Bryant Park trying to place cats and dogs in homes.

Mayor's Alliance for NYC's Animals This Saturday, December 12, professional photographers worldwide will unite, donating their time, skills, and space to people and animals in need through Help-Portrait (http://www.help-portrait.com). Evan Kafka (http://www.evankafka.com), an acclaimed NYC-based photographer, will be shooting photographs of NYC shelter ...and rescue pets. Evan has requested 25-35 adoptable animals between 11 a.m. and 5 p.m. on Saturday, December 12, at his studio: 150 West 28th Street (between 6th and 7th Avenues), Suite 1602. In return, we will receive digital images of the animal portraits. Would you like to take part in this special opportunity?
