Donna

Donna made the GreenEggs and Bacon pizza for dinner tonight. It was really good and I don't like spinach. Bought the cookbook and I am looking forward to trying several recipies.

Lorna Have you gotten into pressure cooking? It's a great way for moms to get healthy food on the table quickly!

Many people contact me for advice on buying a new pressure cooker, and it can be a jungle out there with so many models available in price ranges from $39 and up to $180 for a 6-quart cooker.

In season October through February, bright orange persimmons are often found adorning holiday tables … but have you ever triedthem before? ...

I got this post on FB from my friend about the new persimmon cookie recipe. I sent her home with a bag of 7 or 8 cookies. "Allison Peabody: i ate all those cookies last night..except one.that i saved for this very moment while i commented you! =]" Already getting RAVE reviews! I really do LOVE the new recipe and can't wait to try the brown sugar. This was such a great experience! I will send you a bigger box of persimmons next year!

Thanks Kristin! Glad the crisp was a hit on Christmas morning. Janice made ginger carrot latkes and they were a big hit on Christmas Eve.

Meal Makeover Moms Merry Christmas from the Bissex family. Leah made this huge snowman yesterday (using a ladder to get the top snowballs in place) and wanted to share it with everyone. Carolyn jumped for joy when she saw it!

Once called “the gold of the Incas” and believed to increase the stamina of their warriors, quinoa (keen-wah) is an ancient “grain” fairly new to the U.S. market. Quinoa...
Amanda Bethmann

Amanda Bethmann I was listening to some of your older podcasts recently. I went out and bought Kosher Salt, wheat germ, and ground flax. Very excited to use them. I just found this recipe for Cranberry Walnut Bread and want to make it with leftover cranberries that I have. Sounds like it is good, but could be better. Any tips?

Use your food processor for the nuts and cranberries and save loads of time.

Here's what we would do. Replace half the white flour with whole wheat, cut the sugar (by a third) to 2 cups, and use a half cup canola oil along with 1/4 cup butter. It looks delicious- let us know how it comes out! Here's another recipe from Eating Well Magazine to consider: http://www.eatingwell.com/recipes/cranberry_nut_mini_loaves_with_flaxseeds.html

Meal Makeover Moms What are your favorite holiday food traditions? For Janice, every December, her daughters decorate gingerbread houses with two neighborhood families. Even though some of the girls are now in their 20s, they still look forward to this fun and gooey event! We'd love to see some of your holiday food photos, so feel free to post them right here to our fan page.
