Ron and Vicki will be presenting a sacred sound, yoga and chanting retreat at Govinda Valley, about an hour from Sydney.
Program:
10am - 11am Yoga class (suitable for all abilities) with teacher Dana Gifford
11.30 - 12.30am Ayurveda talk (Ayurveda is a 5000 year old holistic system of health care that teaches us to balanc...e our energies in order to achieve optimum health and well being.)
1 - 2 pm Vegetarian Lunch
2.30 - 4pm ' The Alchemy of Sacred Sound' with Ron and Vicki - Detailed explanation of the science of sound, dialogues in consciousness, the relationship between sound and the chakras and the therapeutic power of music that changes brain physiology and enhances emotional well being enriching ones life
4 - 4.30pm Afternoon tea
4.30 - 5pm Yoga
5 - 6pm Kirtan - a form of meditation, involving participatory devotional singing in Sanskrit and other ancient languages and has an inherent power to bring into being the Reality it represents)
7 - 8pm Dinner followed by screening of inspirational film

On Saturday 12th Sept 09’ we will be hosting a very special evening at the home of Ulli Hansen with the very distinguished Dr Damodhar Thakur, Professor and Chairman of the Department of English at the University of Sana'a, Yemen
Dr Thakur is an eminent linguist, internationally recognised scholar and one of the world’...s foremost authorities on the Bhagavad Gita. He has been lecturing on this celebrated classic for over two decades. On this special evening we have arranged he will be speaking on his ideas on the Gita and its relationship to sound and music. Dr Thakur is well qualified for such a task both intellectually and spiritually. He is the author of the “Gita, the Song Extraordinary” which comes with a forward by Karan Singh, a former Indian Govt Minister. In his interpretation of the Bhagavad Gita he finds a powerful convergence between the insights into the Gita and the most advanced concepts of modern science
Dr Thakur is here for a short visit, lecturing and visiting family. It is a rare opportunity for us to hear this classic text presented in an intimate setting and we are priviliged to have it made available in such a way.
There’ll also be music and light refreshments. Entry is by donation
