Hi,

I've got a question concerning a certain cymbal, so if anybody can help me out I'd appreciate it greatly! In the following video, Chris Adler uses an unusual-sounding cymbal which sits pretty much exactly over his hi-hats. You can see and hear him use during first 20 seconds or so of the song (he hits it with his left hand). The Meinl website says he uses a 12" Soundcaster Custom Distortion Splash in that position, but in the video it seems more like a 14" and I'm not sure that's what he's using. I also can't make out any logos on the cymbal. I've listened to the sound samples on the website as well and the cymbals don't sound the same, but of course that could just be down to the setting, power of the stroke etc. If anybody can confirm that he is in fact using the 12" Soundcaster Custom Distortion Splash, or tell me what he is using otherwise, I'd be grateful, because then I'll go and buy it! =)

If you want to know what some of your favorite Meinl Cymbal artists have been up to, maybe you should check out Alternative Press magazine from time to time.

Just this year alone, three out of six covers have been graced by bands whose drummers play Meinl Cymbals. And all three bands - Paramore (February 08), Panic At the Disco (May 08) and Cobra Starship (June 08), are in the top of the charts here in the US right now. Not bad.
