Metal Museum Tinsel was apparently invented by a french metalsmith in the 1600's...or maybe by a (possibly insane) German silversmith in the 1840's who started hammering silver, shredding it and putting it on a tree.

Either way, we'd like to thank all our metalsmith friends for making our holidays merry and bright!

People either love or hate tinsel. This Christmas, it looks like fans outnumber foes as sales of the inexpensive decoration are up compared to last year.

Metal Museum Exhibits change every ten to twelve weeks and range from jewelry and hollowware in precious metals to sculpture and architectural ironwork. Approximately two-thirds of the Museum’s exhibitions are organized in-house; the others are touring, rented exhibits or borrowed collections from other institutions and/or individuals.

This is also a marvelous place to bring out-of-town guests for a visit. Your all-guy male relatives will actually enjoy a museum visit at this one. NOMM is singular and memorable! My parents loved it.
