"New Ballet Ensemble presents the young audience of first and second graders at Hanley Elementary in Memphis, Tn with an example of dance that illustrates the connection between dance genres. Is it ball...et. Is it Hip Hop? Does it matter? The improvisation is inspired by the music. Whether performed by Anna Pavlova or Shamar Rooks of Memphis, TN., it is the movement that illuminates the music. Or is it the other way around? The student audience can decide during and after this first exposure to dance and music informed by classical, romantic and baroque compositional techniques."
