Metamora, Indiana The Chili Cookoff is this Saturday at the Firehouse. The weather is going to be great for eating chili so come down and try it out. Also come see the U.S. Marshalls and local Sheriffs closing in on the James/Younger Gang and it looks like they'll catch up to them in Metamora! A shootout is most likely to ensue. Also, trick and fancy shooting demostrations. 11:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Music too!

btw, you can get good deals on dog strollers on Ebay. I got mine for 50 and we have about worn it out. Be sure if you get one to get the 3 wheel all terrain. My dog loves his stroller.

Saturday the 24th will be a normal day of operation for most shops. There will be special evening haunted cruises on the canal boat, $4 tickets. There will be trick or treating hosted by the shopkeepers from 5 to 7 PM, bring your little ghosts and goblins in costume.

hmmm.... yes.... we are still trying to get all of our $$ in .... will probably take up most of the coach car.... the Friday after Thanksgiving. Was told that when it fills up.... it fills up. Thanks for the response.

I never miss it if I'm in Indiana. I worked in shops as a teenager in the 80's, and friends & fam always made plans to meet up at the Grist Mill to visit the shops, check out the fest vendors, and photograph all the people that visited from across the Midwest. The last time I went was in 2005, while my husband and I were evacuated from Louisiana ... Read Moreafter Hurricane Katrina. The town was kind enough to allow us to set up a booth for the weekend selling artwork and Indian corn for traveling money. We'll miss Canal Days this year but look forward to visiting at Halloween!
