By making sure that you've dotted your i's and crossed your t's and make sure that both the contractor and the homeowner understand the scope of the project, that stress level would be at a more manageable le...vel. This is one scenario where nobody likes surprises, especially the homeowner. I can't speak for everybody else, but as a contractor with over 15 years of experience, we take pride of what we do and we want to make sure that our clients are satisfied with the work we have done. There is now way we would risk the reputation we've built over shoddy work.
