This is a group dedicated to the photography/art of Michael Carty.
Michael Carty has been photographing for over 5 years, but his love for the visual arts began long before that.
Always the observer, Michael grew up in a small Canadian town called Digby, learning independently about the physical world and how it works. When he wasn't exploring the residences of an anthill or the workings of a honeybee, he would be reading encyclopedias on, amongst other things, physics, in regards to worlds both macro and micro. Thanks to a healthy amount of television to feed his imagination, Michael could easily visualize and meticulously describe things in such detail as to confound his peers.
After high-school, Michael moved to Halifax, NS and was easily drawn to the art of writing. Breezing through his English Literature class with little more than his quick wit and imagination, he was considered a brilliant writer. Eventually Michael came to realize that the part of writing he liked most was imagining the things that he would write about in his minds eye.
Later he explored different mediums of visual arts, including film and painting, and finally found a life-long love affair with photography.
Nothing quite stimulates Michael's artistic mind more than brainstorming his next project. The lines and shapes, color and tones born from his imagination, the atmosphere created from his inner mind like a newly exploding universe full of uncounted possibilities. Michael's drug of choice is composing powerful symphonies of visual art that stir the souls of those who experience them.
Michael has been published world-wide and is currently working on several diverse projects - both personal and professional - from fashion/modelling portraits to publishing a fine art book.
Currently, Michael is freelancing in many genres of photography, including children/family portraits, fashion/beauty portraits, landscape and macrophotography -- and loves every moment of it!
