Major limitation is that it does not consider the Macro Environment changes forcing the market to change its shape. The framework is still powerful, when used in conjunction with Macro Environment analysis..as this framework is useful to analyse micro environment.

Re: macro environment coverage, depends on how far you want to go in your analysis, all due respect to Neeraj's point, I quite all 5 areas as starting points to develop an interesting story on the underlying macro environment and market changes facing the firm.

Bottomline: does the audience already possess that knowledge, or have the time to go through the macro material in your 30 min presentation (in which presumably Porter's 5 forces is but one of the many elements you would have to cover)?
