Robert M Linn Maybe I'm the only one, But is there anyway to speed up the loading time on the Zune software end, I have great internet connection, but its takes ridiculously long for the music/video & podcast pages to load, and it takes even longer to load pacific page's, so is there anyone there out there who might have a answer, or who is having the same troubles?

Suzi Am I the only person wondering how to tell if my device is really off? Where is the instruction manual? What is the side button for? I like things laid out in black and white and that simple stuff seems to be lacking.

You should never have to turn the Zune off. To turn the Zune off, hold the top power button until a slider appears, which you should slide down, and the player will shut itself off. To turn it back on hold the power button. However the process of starting up takes more battery power than letting the Zune HD sleep.

To sleep the Zune HD, or to turn the screen off, simply press the power button up top and the screen will shut off, much like the iPod Touch. However, make sure to pause your music or it will continue to play and drain your battery.

The instruction manual is underneath the player in the Zune HD case, along with headphones, headphone slipcovers, and various ads for add-ons.

You can run the Zune software through WINE, which I'm sure you're familiar with if you use Linux.
