MidCurrent Lee, Try calling one of the top guides who are probably already booked, like Diego Roullye or Tim Klein, and ask them for a referral. They may know of someone who's open, even tho that's a very busy time for them typically.

MidCurrent Ah, South American trout flies. It's hard to generalize, given all the possible waters and situations. A lot of bug-free rivers and streamer fishing down there, but it all depends on the locale.

MidCurrent Recently released by the American Museum of Fly Fishing, "Why Fly Fishing" was filmed in high definition and is optimized for full-screen viewing. It contains 11 chapters covering virtually every aspect of fly fishing, and features many popular figures in the sport, including Joan Wulff, Flip Pallot, Diana Rudolph, Nick Lyons, and, for the first time on film, John Gierach.

Nick Lyons is THE (fly-fisher)man. I highly recommend his book, My Secret Fishing Life, which has some wonderful passages on the urban angle.

Besides including some of the only footage of Richard Brautigan, the cult 60s poet and novelist, "Tarpon" also features commentary by legendary guides Woody Sexton, Steve Huff, and Gil Drake, as well as Page Brown, an ardent Keys conservationist. Thomas McGuane and Jim Harrison are also featured in the film, and Jimmy ...Buffet composed the music. Many consider this film to be the first of the modern fishing films.Read More

Where in the world can I get a copy of this film? I teach a fly fishing class at a university and would really like to show this film in class!
