All of us at Cabinwood Farm said goodbye yesterday to a pair of our most beautiful young jennets born so far. Weanling sorrels Full Moon Minta (Minnie) and Lullabye Lucille (Lucy) traveled to New York State to their new home. Our biggest joy as breeders is always bringing these beautiful foals into the world. When it's... time for them to leave for their new homes, it is a little sad to part with them and really can tug at your heart! It helps to know they are loved and appreciated by their new owners and will hopefully someday pass on that same joy of birth to them as well!
Happy new homes Minnie and Lucy!!!!!Read More

Ozark Red Sierra, Cabinwood Farm's main herdsire, asks if you are ready for winter weather, yet? Here around Cabinwood in NEOhio we've already seen some snow on the ground and had some wicked cold winds! All our donkeys are now in their permanent winter areas and for the first time we will be housing 4 breedng jacks ov...er the winter:^O The heated water buckets and extension cords are going in this weekend, the donkeys winter coats are filling in very nicely, and today I will be pulling out my Carhartt winter overalls and coat, searching to find hats and looking for gloves that match! Tomorrow's high temperature here will peak around 38 degrees....this is always the part of raising livestock that makes us ponder and wonder why.......! Think positive and stay warm...only 137 days till Spring!!Read More

Summer is an Afghan Hound puppy. At 3 weeks old Summer stopped eating and without the constant care of her breeder Peggy Coffman, she would have died. Luckily Summer has survived so far but her growth was severely affected by her illness. We have adopted Summer and brought her here to Cabinwood Farm in hopes that we ca...n continue her loving care and help her to grow and live a happy and long life! Unfortunately, there are no guarentees that she will survive to adulthood but so far…SHE IS DOING GREAT!
We’ll keep you posted on Summer’s progress and growth and let’s all keep our fingers crossed that she can grow and get beyond her issues !!!!
Thanks for trusting us with your baby, PeggyRead More
