• Midnight Masses
    Hello everyone! I'm here to give you an update of goings on in the Masses collective: Multi-instrumentalist/vocalist Destiny Montague was recently in Austin performing with the band Feathers (opening for Brooklyn-based Midnight Magic, actually). They are playing a show in NYC at Mercury Lounge March 7th and then heading over to the UK for All Tomorrow's Parties. Guitarist/producer Eric Rodgers is ...touring with VHS Or Beta , recently hitting the west coast and soon heading down to South America. He is also in the studio working on our side project Haunted Hauses. Jason Reece and I are in Austin prepping for the next Trail of Dead album, and I'm also getting ready to release the trailer for the Midnight Masses/Illium Pictures film "Now Here Is Nowhere" starring Jaleel Bunton of TV On The Radio.     I first heard Midnight Masses three years ago when they opened for Trail of Dead in One-Eyed Jacks and I was convinced they’d be the next big thing. Time has shown me one thing: I was apparently the only person paying attention to the stage that night.

  • Midnight Masses
    Thanks to everyone who came to the shows. Sorry if you were unable to get in. Midnight Masses is currently working on a film in conjunction with Ilium Pictures entitled Now Here Is Nowhere to be released in May 2012. More activity will follow.

      Tonight Midnight Masses plays for the last time for a while (and only for the second time in over a year, but also the second time this week, but anyway...). Join us at Union Pool tonight! Gentlemen and Riverwild open. We play at eleven.

      Just wanted to say that myself as well as Eric Rodgers, Destiny Montague, and Giselle Rieber (who has officially returned to her place as a member as Midnight Masses) are really happy to play together again. We have some friends - new and old - joining us for our shows this week. We don't have immediate plans for more shows but we do plan to continue making music. First will be the debut of a film... collaboration inspired by and featuring the music of Midnight Masses entitled 'Now Here Is Nowhere'. Next, I will start on some new tracks with Jason Reece in Austin before we go full-force on the new Trail of Dead album. Super excited to work with everyone on new stuff and wish all our past members the best with their future projects!See More
