God calls us through His Son Jesus to live a life that glorifies Him. Everything we do should point to God and His glory. The Gospel is not a 'social gospel' to be used to change society but to bring the 'good news' that ... in the midst of all that is going on ... God is still sovereign and on His throne.
Recent days have shown us that the majority of Western societies have thrown out any semblance of a belief system based on the God of the Bible. Is it our job to change that? Is it our job to condemn them? Is it our job to point out the evils of the times?
I believe the answer to all those questions is a resounding NO!
Our 'job' is to speak [proclaim, herald, announce] the good news that Jesus Christ is the Son of God and died and rose from the dead to conquer sin and is seated at the right hand of the Father to judge the living and the dead, and to baptize people in the name of the Father, Son and Holy Spirit teaching them His commandments (not ours])

Does that mean we do nothing or don't lift a finger when we see injustice? Of course not (Good Semaritan) but it does mean that we must be careful to not dump our beliefs on another with the intention of 'changing their minds'. It is only the Holy Spirit that can lead someone to salvation. And, once the Holy Spirit is in a person, they still has free-will to welcome Him or discourage Him in their lives.
What are we to do about discouraging or encouraging social changes? What are we to do about recent things like Prop 8 in California and the legalization of same-sex marriage in Canada and a few other countries? Or what are we to do about the rejection of Colorado voters to defining life starting at conception. What are we to do about abortion issues?
These are issues that we can discuss, debate, argue against and get upset. But what should our Christ-like responses be?
Your thoughts are welcome as long as they ultimately bring glory to God our Father.
