ABOUT US:
The Milwaukee Public Museum is a museum of human and natural history that interprets the world's culture and natural heritage through collections, research, education and exhibits.
Created in 1882, the museum has many interesting exhibits such as The Streets of Old Milwaukee, The Living Oceans, The Rain Forest and Butterflies Alive.
NEW PERMANENT EXHIBIT
HEBIOR MAMMOTH:
Hebior Mammoth is an artifact with great significance to the state of Wisconsin - it was found less than 40 miles from the Milwaukee Public Museum on a farm in Kenosha County, and its bones, which contain significant butchering marks, are the oldest evidence of human habitation in North America. See a full-size casting of the mammoth in the Museum Atrium.
