Mineola Memorial Library The Mineola Library will be a drop off spot for knitting yarn to be used by the charity “We Care Blankets.” Their project is to knit blankets for children undergoing chemotherapy. They supply colorful blankets to 23 oncology units on Long Island. The drop off box will be in the Children’s Room. Please donate any yarn you can spare!
Mineola Memorial Library Drop off new and unwrapped toys for the U.S. Marine Corps Reserve’s “Toys for Tots” campaign at the library from Nov. 2 through Dec. 19! There will be a “Toys for Tots” box located at the Circulation Desk and in the Children’s Room downstairs.
Mineola Memorial Library Tweens and teens are invited to the grand opening party of the Mineola Library's new Tween/Teen Room, which will be available in our Community Room after school, from 3-5pm, for doing homework, reading, Wii gaming, watching movies, and listening to CDs! Mineola Memorial Library The Drop Dead Comedy traveling theatre group invites all junior detectives to come and solve a fun murder mystery with archaelogist Indiana Bones and some unexpected "remains" in the Tomb of Doom. Kids will find clues to figure out "whodunnit," as adults laugh along! (May not be suitable for children under age 7.)

Mineola Memorial Library This reenactment will take place in Mineola Memorial Park by The Fifty-Seventh Virginia Infantry Company “B” (an American Civil War Confederate Reenactment Unit). Along with approximately 30 participants, Captain Raymond Pickett will perform military muster and drills, musket firings, camp life duties and present period artifact displays.
