Want to know what it takes for design to be successful these days? How are ideas turned into results? Understanding the difference between design and design strategy is the first step in developing and implementing an effective design solution. You are invited to the next “So…” event, "Strategy: Behind Design". Listen ...and engage with a panel of local agencies who effectively use design strategy to add value to their client interactions, advertising campaigns, print, electronic, and packaging solutions. See the case studies behind some of their most successful projects and how incorporating design strategy resulted in amazing results. Find out how to develop skills that will help you emerge as a strategic designer.

Join us for the next installment of the “So…” series for emerging designers. “So…” is the beginning of a question, an idea, a community, a statement. Emerging designers (typically in their first 4 years out of school) are brought together through a quarterly series of lectures, discussions and social networking hours. This is place where we explore the essential topics that you were never taught in school, or have been dying to ask since you broke into design.
Space is limited, registration will be up soon on the AIGA Minnesota website. Registration deadline is December 7 at 5pm.
Cost: AIGA Members: $10, Non-members: $15
Note: A full refund will be processed for all cancellations notified prior to December 7. Sorry, no refunds after December 7.

Want to know what it takes to be a designer these days? Feel fatigued as you look for work? Is eight hours really too much sleep when looking for a job? Get some answers! You are invited to the next “So…” event, “Rookies: Emerging Designers on Entering the Job Market.” Listen and engage with a panel of recent graduates... who have found success throughout the Twin Cities at places such as OLSON, The Thorburn Group, Zeus Jones, and Little & Co. See the portfolios that got them their jobs, hear about their design triumphs and trials (let’s be realistic here), and grill them with your own questions.

AIGA Minnesota’s mentoring program is designed to fertilize the career growth and professional success of emerging graphic designers, just like you. As a mentee, you’ll be paired u...p with a seasoned professional who has lots of experience in your ideal profession and who is open to sharing their knowledge with you.
For only $30, we’ll provide the introduction to a like-minded professional and, together, you’ll set your own schedule and time commitment over the course of the four-month program. Along the way, we’ll provide helpful suggestions and encouragement.
