Sheila Asato

Sheila Asato I just stumbled upon your group and find your topics fascinating. Are your events open to the public? I am currently finished up my training with Robert Bosnak to become an "Embodied Imagination Coach". If anyone in your group is interested in hearing more about his work, I'd love to share it with you.

In the last two decades there has been increasing interest in network structures in a wide variety of disciplines. This interest is due in large part to advances in techniques for analyzing and modeling networks, as well as an increase in the availability of large real-world network data (Facebook, protein-protein inte...raction/metabolic networks, etc.). The development of methods of understanding networks has been truly multi-disciplinary, including diverse fields such as sociology, physics, biology, computer science, and statistics. Unfortunately, the researchers investigating these phenomena are often not as well connected as their data.

Jeremy Bellay is organizing an interdisciplinary group that will bring together researchers and students who are interested in networks and the methods for exploring them. One possible structure will be participants giving short tutorials on their own research and problems, but the group could follow a different format, depending on the participants. There will be an organizational meeting at 4:00 p.m. on Friday, October 30 in 235 Nolte Center. If you have any questions or would like to participate but cannot attend this meeting, please email Jeremy at bellay@cs.umn.edu.
