Minnesota Bluegrass & Old-Time Music Association
The Minnesota Homegrown Kickoff is a three-day outdoor music and camping festival featuring regional bands performing bluegrass, old-time stringband, and related forms of acoustic music. Twenty-four bands are expected to perform on the main stage on May 29-31, 2009 at El Rancho Mañana Campground & Riding Stables near R...ichmond, Minnesota.
Main stage showtimes are 5:00 PM to 11:00 PM Friday, 11:00 AM to 11:00 PM Saturday, and 10:00 AM to 5:00 PM Sunday. Bring your own lawn chairs and enjoy the beautiful, shady main stage area for these shows.
In addition to the main stage performances there will be workshops, organized jam sessions, music and craft vendors, and good food available. The Gathering Place, a large tent not far from the main stage area, serves as a welcome center for all who come to the Kickoff. Meanwhile, bluegrass and old-time musicians from across the Midwest will keep the campfires ringing with jam sessions around the clock.
