Minnesota Renaissance Festival Performing Cast It's another nutty season. The festival site is a water soaked hell hole! It is supposed to be a lovely weekend, but be prepared for mud!

Minnesota Renaissance Festival Performing Cast It's the "Merry Men Show," not Robin Hood. I stand corrected. It's made up of three performers, Luis Rosa, Andrew Nelson, Ted Anderson. It's NOT Robin Hood, though in my aging memory has made that associative connection. They'll be performing at the Gypsy Stage.

Well before the creation of the show I thought to myself about a few things. "The Robin Hood Show" is time tested for sure but I don't own the rights to that show. The dialog has pretty much been the same for some..I don't know 18-19 years. It's like Puke and Snot with a pond.(No disrespect to P and S) So I decided to create a different show same ... See Moreidea but decided to add the meeting of Friar Tuck and Robin Hood. Why not?! I thought. They met at a river and fought by the river as well. It was the perfect set up.

So after finding my actors Ted Anderson aka Little John and Andrew Nelson aka Friar Tuck we met and talked about what I want as the show. After a few pints of beer and belly laughs that I have not had in a life time I knew that night this is not "The Robin hood Show" I wasn't using any part of the former show at all there are some similarity such as the 3 fights quarterstaff, broadsword, and unarmed and the falling in the pond. But other than that it a different show. That night we toasted to "The Merry Men Show"
One thing remains the same the lines that are in every Robin Hood book I have read.

RH: "Good Sir please stand aside and let a better man pass."

LJ: "I will when I see one!"

Minnesota Renaissance Festival Performing Cast Morning gate show. It'll be rough the first weekend because, I suspect, our great King (aahhh hmmm John!) won't remember his lines. I think we should just give him some white cards with his lines on them, and let him read them if he needs to. Gordy will be funny, and Linda rides in on a horse...tell me THAT won't be cool!

How about the peasants use their signs as cue cards for John? Be a good laugh, especially when he squints and reads slow - ly.
Will Linda be re-enacting a certain lady's nude ride? That would get us some exposure. Heh.

Minnesota Renaissance Festival Performing Cast Another great day performers. We spent quite a bit of time on new front gate opener, they did really well. This group has some potential.
