A National Geographic Adventure magazine article by
author and explorer David Roberts outlines the recent
discovery of the remains of Everett Ruess, the fabled
artist and poet who has become an icon of the beauty
of the great American southwest desert. For four
years until his 1934 disappearance in southeast Utah,
Rue...ss wandered California and the southwest
writing poetry and letters home, trading his art for
sustenance, and living simply. Everett's niece
Michelle Ruess, the daughter of Everett's brother the
late Waldo Ruess, will be on hand to discuss how the
discovery of his remains has effected her life.
David Roberts will lead the discussion. A journalist,
mountaineer, explorer and author of over a dozen
books, he'll also be available to sign copies of his
books including his most recent, Last of his Kind -
The Life and Adventures of Bradford Washburn,
America's Boldest Mountaineer. Call Back of

Join us this Saturday evening as we welcome poet, storyteller, woodshaper and colorful character Oleh Lysiak. He will be reading from some of his canyon country- inspired work, including from his most recent book Scars in Progress - Poems from the Road.
