LITTLE WOMEN...TURN TRENDY!

Stripes, colours, daisies, plissé, ribbons, girly attitude and tradition are the distinctive features of the new Monnalisa collections. The Chic line, designed for the most refined occasions and for special ceremonies, is inspired by romanticism: flowers, gentle and delicate tones, white daisies enriching the most elegant dresses, pretty t-shirts, miniskirts with flounces and leggings, just what “little women” need to be fashionable. Azure-on-white prints for dresses resembling Chinese porcelains, with a comeback of the extremely romantic, though absolutely contemporary, smock point. Old rose and sage green, with tone-on-tone flowers and overlays. All garments express the unmistakable Monnalisa spirit, where elegance is never retrò or taken for granted, but rather takes on new fashion declinations drawing from the fashion shows of little girls’ trendiest and most fashionable mothers.

Clear and linear though also romantic lines, and many references to Disney club cartoons for the Ny&Lon collection, Monnalisa’s more sporty line. The central theme is white, fresh, fun, with flaunces, ribbons, azure and touches of melange gray. Vague marine echoes and a sparkling flair. Star prints, miniskirts with flaunces and many jersey babycord dresses with puff skirts in romantic azure tulle.

The Monnalisa line, designed for girls between 2 and 12, draws inspiration from the world of fairytales, with elegant and light details. Degradée bright roses and plenty of dots for the “Candy Girl” theme, which draws from Alice in the Wonderland. “Gold touches”: white as the main colour, and lots of gold, also in an ironic and fun version, with pretty prints. All-over patterns and a 1950s-style freshness, with flounced tops and prints, with lots of blue and the friendly image of Donald Duck. “Bella vista”, a truly Italian theme, is dominated by red and white ribbons. White, black and pink for the “Bon Chic” theme, paillettes and beautiful San Gallo lace with constrating black-on-white embroideries.

A vintage and joyful spirit characterizes the Jakioo line. Sylvester the Cat is the undisputable hero of most prints, with black with white dots, paillettes and patchwork patterns. Gold lace touches for an elegant “Brilliant Girl” , shorts and gold prints. Brown tones fading into hazelnut, silver paillettes, basic gray and the friendly image of the Seven Dwarfs dominate decorations. Chamois fringes alternate white San Gallo laces in dresses and skirts.

The Bebè line is extremely sweet. White and red, with lots of ladybirds, to enliven flowery and delicate fabrics. “The puppies’ garden”: a fresh and happy pic-nic in the open air. White and blue for “Metropolitan cuddles”. “Sweet vintage” is permeated by old rose touches, with prints as delicate as French tapestries, softened by the unmistakable sweetness of Bamby.

“Little Girls-Mademoiselles”: Monnalisa is glad to present “Paesaggino”, a fashionable little girls’ clothing collection. Designed by two young designers and produced on an exclusive basis by Monnalisa SpA, the Spring/Summer 2008 Paesaggino collection conveys the cosmopolitan feeling of Divas living between Paris and Montecarlo, with clear references to Chanel’s chic and refined style. T-shirts with references to Coco’s world, with overlays of small gold chains and pearls, no.5-charms and a linear though also feminine style, particularly appreciated by Mademoiselles. Straw baskets with leather flowers for young Grace Kellys on Montecarlo beaches. Plenty of feathers on tops, one of the key themes of the collection, and black and white garments for girls keen on the affected and fanciful side of fashion
