The Monroe Art Guild is honored to present “The Beauty of a Letter” as their Art Talk for August. The presentation is going to be given by Dr. Janice Hurt-Clarke on Tuesday, August 25 at 6:30 at the Monroe Art Guild. A small reception will take place afterwards in the lobby area. The event is free and open to the pu...blic.

Dr. Hurt-Clarke is a chiropractor as well as a massage therapist who has become an experienced calligrapher through the years. A native of Detroit, Michigan, Dr. Hurt-Clarke is a member of the Atlanta Friends of the Alphabet and a former member of the Michigan Association of Calligraphers. She currently lives in Jefferson, Georgia, but her talent can be seen throughout the U.S. and beyond with work she has done for friends and family in the forms of wedding/celebration invitations, restaurant menus, thank you notes, place cards for receptions, as well as those special occasions marked by a card such as birthdays and holidays.

The Monroe Art Guild’s Art Talk series is a way to promote art to the public and at the same time give attention to areas of art that may not have as much attention given to it as some of the other areas of art. The presentation is the fourth in the Art Talk series this year with a presentation scheduled for September and October. The August Art Talk is sponsored by Marvin and Joan Sorrells.

The Monroe Art Guild is located at 205 South Broad Street in downtown Monroe. For any questions, contact us at 770-207-8937, www.monroeartguild.org or at monroeartguild@hotmail.com
