My wife and I spent 8 wonderful days there last June/July. We were treated royally by Pamela, Johnny and their daughter Alaia. They are warm and generous hosts. They were... very knowledgeable re the area, restaurants and history. Pamela taught some wonderful cooking classes in her home as well as taking us through various restaurant kitchens throughout the area. We highly recommend this AgroTurismo if you enjoy good food and like to eat!

i've stayed with my family (my parents' 60th wedding anniversary) at poggio etrusco last fall and have booked it again with several of my closest girlfriends for my 50 th birthday! to say it was a g...reat experience is an understatement. from the moment you arrive to the moment you leave you are treated like family and friends. the property is everything you've always dreamed tuscany would be-rolling hills full of olive trees, vineyards, birds singing, truly a dream realized and more. the apartments are spacious and comfortable appointed with all the amenities and decorated in a very charming way. the grounds and pool are lovely. pamela, an accomplished chef and author is a most gracious and kind host along with her family, husband johnny a very talented artist, and alaia, their vivacious 10 year old daughter, not to mention their many 4 legged family members!

My husband and I stayed for almost a week and it was absolutely incredible. The location was perfect - a quick drive to everything you'd like to see in Tuscany, yet seclu...ded, quiet and private. I didn't get a chance to take a cooking class with Pamela, but there were several while we stayed there - some of the "extras" were served at breakfast. I can tell you from experience, the fig jam crostatta that was served was addictive and the cooking class was the topic of conversation at the breakfast table. We opted to participate in the winemaker dinner and Tuscan farm tour tha were both coordinated by Pamela. All I can say is amazing. Both events exceeded our expecation and were truly a window to an 'insiders' view of Tuscan food and wines. We've stayed several times (once for two weeks!) at Poggio Etrusco and also recommended it to friends. We love it! The owner, Pamela Sheldon-Johns is a noted cookbook aut...hor snd gives cooking classes and food tours (we took her tour to Piemonte to go truffle hunting. It was great!) Her husband Courtney and daughter Alaia are delightful. The beautifully restored farmhouse with olive trees is a wonderful base to explore the area -- you can walk into Chianciano Terme. I don't think you'll be disappointed -- we can't wait to get back there ourselves (once the dollar recovers!) Hope this helps! Enjoy!
