Montgomery College Transfer Planning Program Description

The MARC U*STAR Program at UMBC is a research training scholarship program for undergraduate juniors and seniors majoring in the life sciences, physical sciences, engineering and mathematics. Successful candidates for the MARC U*STAR award have an outstanding academic record, a strong desire to pursu...e a Ph.D. degree and career in biomedical research or mathematics. They also demonstrate a strong commitment to increasing the number of persons from underrepresented groups who pursue these goals. MARC Trainees successfully balance increasingly difficult courses in the biomedical sciences while conducting extended individual research projects under the supervision of their MARC Research Mentors.
