Mosaic Literary Magazine Have you recently said, "Next year I need a tax deduction." Well, now is the time to set up a monthly giving plan. Your nominal donation of $10 per month will give Mosaic the ability to expand its education programs: literature-focused professional development workshops and lesson plans for teachers. Mosaic Literary Magazine
Mosaic Literary Magazine was awarded a $5,000 grant by the Bronx Council on the Arts to present a professional development workshop.
The workshop (and a social-network component) will invite adults (predominately secondary-school educators) to explore various narratives, characters, and themes in facilitator-selected books, and how books can connect to New York City Department of Education secondary school social studies coursework.
The seven-session workshop is scheduled to begin mid April. It will take place in the Bronx (where the people are fresh). Exact time and dates to come.

Library Subscriptions
One of the goals for 2009 is to increase library circulation of Mosaic Literary Magazine to 300. It's currently 10% of that.
Librarians interested in subscribing to Mosaic should contact EBSCO or WTCox. Your library subscription will assist Mosaic in its goal to become an independent literary magazine focused on writers of the African Diapora.

BLOG DESIGN PROJECT
The Mosaic Literary Magazine is in need of a web designer who is looking to help us reach our potential. We would like to integrate our current blog, http://mosaicbooks.com/blog1/, with the “look and feel” of the rest of our pages http://mosaicmagazine.org.
The redesign should allow us to expand the use of guest bloggers and provide pages that will allow us to meet our mission of engaging educators and administrators with lesson plans that encourage teenagers, through books and reading, to better understand history and social studies.
This may be a simple project but it requires more time than we can commit to creating it. This is a pro bono project. Your time and effort is tax deductible to the fullest extent of the law.
