those ones are nice...but overtime they got to hot and warp from the heat...the BETTER ones are the cast iron ones...they heat better and dont get hotspots like the aluminium(spelling) ones do

Funny Story we live in a small town in PA( in the sticks) and I always have campfire parties. My one friend brought her new boyfriend who was from the city I handed him the mountain pie maker and he looked at us with this stupid look on his face and says whats this we both died laughing...

yeah I am from a small town too, when hubby and I emabarked on our first camping adventure he kind of looked at me strange when I told him we were having Mt pies. He then proceeded to ask what they were.

My hubby has an old pie iron that crimps the edges and it is wonderful. We all fight over it. I have looked and looked for pie irons like it and could never find any - until now!! I'll be ordering several!!

These irons will be on my wish list. Memories of evening camp fires while camping as a kid ... the first time I saw and then ate a pizza sandwich, I was blown away. Yummalicious in the cool mountain night air.

I definitely prefer the Cast Iron Palmer iron over the 2 piece Rome one. I have had the Palmer for over 15 years and it has done an excellent job. The Rome one I have is newer and it is too hard to work with when it is hot and in 2 pieces. Just my opinion. Another note, any of them will melt the weld on the handle if you leave it buried in the

coals too long. I DO NOT allow people to shove MY irond deep into the coald like they have a tendenct to do.l The only thing that accomplishes is burning the bread and possibly melting that aforementioned weld. JMO
