Moxie Ladies Quartet
We are proud to represent an organization of strong and amazing women.
Information
Members:
Stacey St. John – Tenor, resides in Cincinnati, Ohio. While growing up in Columbus, Indiana, she began harmonizing with her father, an avid barbershopper, and knew she desperately wanted to become a Sweet Adeline. It was when she met her husband Chad, also a barbershopper, that she moved to Dayton and began her barbershopping career. Stacey has sung with several quartets, most notably, Success Express, two-time International Finalists. Stacey and Chad are proud parents of two sons, Hayden and Brendan. They are also the sometimes proud owner of a bichon frise named Snoopy.

Jennifer Perry Edwards – Lead, resides in Perrysburg, Ohio. She was introduced to barbershop while studying music at Bowling Green State University. A graduate in music, Jenn is a sought after vocal coach and clinician. Jenn keeps busy with YIH quartets and working for the SAI YWIH Task Force. She is the YWIH coordinator for Region 17 and considers young people in barbershop among her passions. She was recently named the 2008 SAI/MENC Music Educator of the Year. She plays banjo in the Chuck Taylor and the Dixie Squid Dixieland Band. Prior to singing with Moxie Ladies, Jenn sang lead with Region 17’s two-time regional champion quartet – Distinction.

Amy Leacock – Baritone, was introduced to barbershop when she was a student of music at Bowling Green State University and sang with her first quartet, Unlimited Harmony, a college quartet. She sang jingles, which were aired nationwide, with three members of the Ritz quartet, a SPEBSQSA International Champion Quartet, and sang baritone with Jenn in Distinction. Amy is currently the assistant director of music at Upper Arlington High School. Amy recently started her own business making learning CDs for Sweet Adeline & Barbershop organizations. She and husband Chris, you got it, still another barbershopper, reside in Hilliard, with their adorable and sometimes obstinate 3 year old daughter, McKenzie.

Gretchen Holloway – Bass, spent her formative years wanting to sing barbershop with her mom. Her family claims a long line of both male and female barbershoppers and at the young age of 13 she and sister, Michelle, were instrumental in founding the Scioto Valley Chorus, which she continues to call home. Gretchen has much experience as a quartet singer, as she and Michelle were members of Success Express, Region 4’s quartet champions many years over and were two time International quartet finalists. Gretchen has her degree in American Sign Language from Columbus State Community College and currently works for Val-pak. She resides in Clintonville with roommate, Amy Applegate.

Teresa McCafferty

Teresa McCafferty Congratulations on an extremely successful first workshop. Other regions should be running to their emails to invite you all to come teach them. You were gracious, open and humourous in your presentations and in your contacts with our attendees! You presented information that was often higher level tools in a very easy... to understand format and I think everyone walked away with new tools for their goodie back of tricks. It was wonderful singing with you and sharing the stage and fun times over the weekend. Kudos on a job very well done!!!
