The little girl with red roses..
She must have been 9 or may be 10 yrs old- trying hard to sell me roses at the crossing...
I motioned her to move on. You can afford to ignore from the other side of an A.C. window...
‘Give them to your girlfriend! ‘She insisted.
‘I don’t have one!’ I said a bit rudely.
‘...then give them to... someone else you love,’ she persisted...more amused than desperate now...!
I looked closely at her face. She wore a fake smile, her anxious eyes spoke sadness of one who had hardly ever been loved. Yet at such tender age, she had learnt to sell 'the idea of love’ at a crossing.
I bought the whole bunch from her and removed one that I gave back to her.
I said,’ this is for you! You can keep it or give it to someone else YOU love...’
She laughed...and I smiled...
The taxi moved and I realised the roses smelled so much more wonderful....
